Valiant Comic series HARBINGER has been acquired by Paramount Pictures, VARIETY reports.

BCI, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corp., in its venture with Hearst Ent., will release THE LEGEND OF PRINCE VALIANT--THE COMPLETE SERIES, VOLUME TWO under its Ink and Paint brand.

The voice cast has been set for THE TALE OF DESPEREAUX, the 3D- animated feature from Universal Pictures, directed by stop-motion vet Mike Johnson (the Oscar-nominated CORPSE BRIDE), which marks the first production made by London-based Framestore Feature Animation, the new division of the Framestore CFC vfx studio.

Vanguard Animation and IDT Ent. have announced the launch of production of their CG-animated feature film, SPACE CHIMPS, which will be distributed domestically through IDT Ent.’s multi-picture deal with Twentieth Century Fox.

The maiden 3D-animated feature from the U.K. made by Vanguard Animation was pretty and amiable enough, but failed to make a box office dent after being deemed too cliché ridden and kid-friendly.
