An animation festival dedicated to African and Caribbean animation and designed to promote African Art and animation.
The concept of the screening is to expose West African audience to various techniques and styles of Animation and challenge animators and would be animators to explore other mediums. It is also to bring cinema to young people especially children and develop interest in the art. There will be presentations and discussions where the film maker or representative is present. We are targeting a minimum of 1500 minutes of Animation from around the world to celebrate ANIMAFRIK 2009.
ANANSI MISSION
The Mission is a Global effort to connect the Diaspora to Africa through the web of Ananse and to create the first animated film using the skills of the people of Africa,Caribbean and Diaspora.
WORKSHOP
The festival will host the:
- A day’s animation workshop for Children. 20 seats
- A 2 day, 2d animation workshop.10 seat per session.(2 daily)
- Workshop: Scriptwriting for Animation
- Sound Design for Animation
- Panel Discussion: PROSPECTS AND CHALLENGES OF THE ANIMATION INDUSTRY IN AFRICA
