I’VE SEEN FILMS, founded by international artist Rutger Hauer, Under the Patronage of the Milano Municipality, the Consulate General of the Netherlands, AGIS Lombarda and the Lombardia Film Commission announced today that the I’ve Seen Films Internet Contest has started!
Watch and vote at: www.icfilms.org/eng/contest.php
This is the largest short film online contest ever. There are 337 short films, received from more than 60 countries, with a high artistic level. The voting process will close at the end of September.
The best film among the top 20 will receive the Internet Audience Award; the ‘I’ve Seen Films’ Jury panel will chose the short film they consider the best from that group of 20, and will then award it with the Internet Jury Award.
I’ve Seen Films 2009, in addition to being featured on the Internet for many months with its online Contest, will run for ten days, from the end of September into October, in the following three venues located downtown Milan: Centre Culturel Français, (September 24, 26 and October 1); THECA (end September); Gnomo Milano Cinema (September 29-October 3).
Furthermore, thanks to the recently signed agreement with the Microcinema Digital Network, the I’ve Seen Films competing films will be broadcast to Microcinema’s network theaters via satellite and the Award Evening will be aired live, thus paving an innovative path in the film festival world. An increasingly expanding audience will have the possibility to enjoy, in digitalized theaters, the best original works of authors from all over the world. This project is made possible by the advanced satellite technology of the European Space Agency (ESA) and its ‘Innovative Satellite Interactive Digital Entertainment (ISIDE).
The authors’ response to I’ve Seen Films 2009 Edition has been extraordinary, resulting in more than 3,000 short films sent from 92 countries. The artistic quality of these works far exceeds the most positive expectations.
I’ve Seen Films is the first festival whereby a short film competition is judged by an International Jury formed by so many notable artistic talents and experts of the cinematography sector.
