How do you see the advertisement industry and its creative field?
I love commercials, the advertisement industry is very powerful. I consider the CG content in ads of great quality, very complex and sometimes much more creative than in other areas. There’s more room for experiments and finding new interesting visual looks.
I love the 30 seconds time frame to be the unique opportunity to sell an idea. So often you see brilliant commercials based on ideas and not on the product itself (that’s not the case of Italian Reclame). Commercial ads sometimes have the essence of a great idea as a basis while great direction and photography, perfect music score, and groundbreaking visual effects totally serving the story.
Some ads are visual gems. I love this field.

Would you like to tell us your VES Award ceremony?
Being at the VES in Hollywood has been a great experience. Sitting at the Kodak theatre among the best people in the industry, CG artist and so many directors and producers has been something I will remember forever.
Now that I look at photos taken during the event I can’t imagine being there and it seems something I saw on TV. I don’t know how I was able to reason and walk on the stage and talk after hearing my name called. When they announced out my category and nominees my heart was jumping on the table but thank God when they said we won I was so nervous that I did not have time to reason and I walked up on stage like a robot, almost by inertia.
Outside of that the evening was great, I met lots of people from different studios but if I have to choose someone that has been very kind I would have to say Brad Bird which joked with us and did not behave as a primadonna at all. Great guy.
