VIEW Conference 2007 begins tomorrow and I am already excited
Hi,
I am about to leave for Turin, I have been visiting this very nice city in the North of Italy for the third time in three years. VIEW Conference 8 will begin tomorrow. Of course the organizer are already franticly preparing the last details. Speakers arrive from all over the World and the main hall of Torino Incontra conference center is waiting to host thousands of visitors. I tried to gather as mush italians as possible by announcing a meeting in the main italian portals as: Treddi.com, Renderglobal.org and my CGItalia.it and it seems we will have a nice “aperitivo” based on Polenta and Fontina and a nice Nebbiolo in some local pub. I will meet a lot of old and new friends and I am very excited.
I am trying to get all the information about the speakers in my head but it’s impossible: Pixar, ILM, Weta Digital, Electronic Arts, DreamWorks, ImageWorks… Autodesk, Google. I am about to explode. That’s why I am looking forward to vomit the essence of these meetings over these pages, here at CGExplorer. Otherwise I could die.
I still remember the last VIEW Conference, 2006, which was still named Virtuality Conference: can you imagine having a nice walk after a good dinner with the Key Engineer of Google Earth? Man, it was incredible.
I will meet again Maria Elena Gutierrez, the sparkling art director and oganizer of this event, Jessica McMacking of Pixar, maybe Luca Prasso of DreamWorks (Luca will you be there?), Wes of Google, Enea Le Fons of Softimage. And TJ Galda will be a new acquaintance from the big Autodesk family. Bruno Bozzetto! The great Maestro of Italian Animation showed more energy than all of my young friends put together.
My god: it’s really a unique event.
Torino: I am coming!
