VIEW Conference 8 Live reporting by Massimo Curatella

Hello fellow readers,
it’s time, at last, to put the rust off of my English and to use CG Explorer for what it was meant to be: exploring CG!
I am about to leave for Turin, North of Italy, (I leave in Rome) to attend the amazing series of events which will take place during the VIEW Conference 8.
As I wrote in my previous post: Virtuality becomes VIEW Conference and does it with style! I am the online PR manager. That is, I have to write and talk about this event.

Well, I am professionally doing it, but I would have done it even without any professional relationship with Maria Elena Gutierrez and his staff. I am a Computer Graphics enthusiast since 1990 and having the VIEW Conference in Italy means a lot to me and to the Italian CG community. Simply speaking: we never had an event like this.

So I am packing my things and planning my trip with my friend Marco Genovesi, digital matte painter. We will follow closely all speakers with a genuine interest. I have been a computer graphics software programmer, I founded an important Italian CG magazine and I am teaching, today, several courses, some in private schools, some in the local University.

That is why I am first an expert, a developer, a teacher and then a reporter officially involved with the event. I am trying to give the widest diffusion of this conference and I received a lot of help from newly and unexpected friends. Let me take the occasion to start saying thanks to some: Paul Hellard of CG Society (respect!) has been enormously useful.

Stay tuned for upcoming updates, in the meanwhile prepare your appetite with:
