Memefest 2007, a noble application of creativity?

Memefest 2007, break a tree and you break a man

For the sixth year now, the organizers of Memefest, a “festival of radical communication,” are encouraging students, professionals, artists and activists alike to contribute their talents to their collective counter-culture.

Young and older creative people, emerging artists looking for a meaning in your creative endeavors, Memefest is for you. The festival of radical communication nurtures and rewards innovative and socially responsible approaches to communication.

Could Memefest be the context where to use our creative energy for a better world? Animated characters, cutting-edge interactive graphics, beautiful alien landscapes: are they meant to be projected on the silver screen just for “entertainment” or could we join in a movement of brains and souls who thinks that Art can be a part of a Bigger Design?

Your thoughts about it are welcome.
