In July 2007 will take place Mundos Digitale 2007, the Spanish international film festival dedicated to animation. Mundos Digitales means Digital Worlds for the less Spanish-prone of you. ;-)
You can participate to the competition with your animation in short form but must be created for non commercial purposes and after January 1st, 2006. This criterion should promote the participation of fresher and more experimental works in the field of animation.
The winners in the following categories: Best animation short film, Best national animation short, Special Public Prize, Special Prize of the Jury; will be awarded with free pass to all events and a trophy.

There are also other sections but at this time they seems to be not active: Animation, Visual Effects and Videogames, Digital Architecture, Sigphi. In the previous edition of Mundos Digitales, the one of year 2006, the programme was quite rich of interesting events where speakers lectured about advance topics in computer graphics, animation, visual effects and videogames.
Quite interesting the venue where the event will be held: the new building of Fundación Caixa Galicia in A Coruña, which, according to the website “is destined to conserve, promote and gather inside its walls the principal cultural expressions of a modern, free and prosperous society”. Regarding the city hosting Mundos Digitale, Coruna, which is located in the Galicia region, it is described like this:
Located in the extreme northwest of the Iberian peninsula, facing the Atlantic, it is an historic maritime city with mild climate. It´s coastal hinterland is characterized by pleasant estuaries, high cliffs, and numerous beaches. One of the most notable images identified with A Coruña is that of the several and varied types of balcony to be seen on the facades of the many 19 century houses, for which A Coruña is called “Chrystal City”. A Coruña: “The city in which nobody is a stranger”.
